The Passing of Deborah Lipsey

Deborah Y. Lipsey of Fairburn, GA and formerly of Bristow, VA entered eternal rest on Friday, June 25, 2021, in Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, GA.
She was born March 8, 1958, to Willie James Lipsey and Minnie Lee Hooker Lipsey. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Willie Alfred Lipsey in 2013 and Anthony Durant “Randy” Lipsey in 2018. She was a member of Chantilly Baptist Church in Chantilly, VA.
She served as trustee, choir member, and the security ministry. Her Christian journey began as a child at Corinth Baptist Church in Union, SC. She was retired from Geico as a Human Resource Professional after thirty years. Deborah attended Union County Public Schools and graduated from Union High School in 1976. After high school graduation, she went on to matriculate at South Carolina State College, now South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, SC and earned a bachelor’s degree in Guidance and Counseling and graduated in 1980.
She attended George Mason University and earned a master’s degree in counseling and a M A Degree in Human Resource from Marymount University. She was a lifetime member Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and a member of the South Carolina State University Alumni Association. To cherish her memories, Deborah leaves four brothers, James Herbert (Fannetta) Lipsey, Ralph (Betty) Lipsey, Albert (Anne) Lipsey, Manning Lee (Tammy) Lipsey; one sister, Alma Lee Darby; one uncle, Arthur Lee Lipsey, two aunts, Carrie E. Wilson and Remattie Petty, and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at Saint Paul Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Mount Rowell Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements are with Community Mortuary Inc., 361 Meansville Road, Union, SC.
